Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 21, 2026

Overview

Screen Snipe is designed with your privacy as a core principle. The app operates entirely on your Mac with no data collection, no analytics, no tracking, and no network connections.

Data collection

Screen Snipe does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Specifically:

Local data

All screenshots, screen recordings, and annotations are saved locally on your Mac in a folder you choose (default: ~/Pictures/ScreenSnipe/). This data never leaves your device.

App preferences (keyboard shortcuts, library location) are stored in the standard macOS user defaults on your device.

Permissions

Screen Snipe requests the following macOS permissions, used solely for core functionality:

These permissions are managed entirely by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Subscriptions

Screen Snipe offers an auto-renewable yearly subscription managed entirely through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled by Apple. Screen Snipe does not have access to your payment information.

Third-party services

Screen Snipe does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. The only network communication is with Apple's StoreKit for subscription validation, handled by the operating system.

Children's privacy

Screen Snipe does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is ever updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Given that Screen Snipe collects no data, significant changes are not anticipated.
